FUT Hair Transplant

Which methods are used in hair transplant?

Hair transplantation can be performed by two methods. These two methods are called FUT (Follicular Unit Transplantation) and FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction).

FUT Hair Transplant in Turkey

In FUT (Follicular Unit Transplantation) hair transplantation operation, the follicles are removed from the region between the two ears as a narrow strip -which leaves a narrow scar on the hairy scalp of that region after the operation. The harvested strip is then carefully cut into individual hair follicles under microscope and these are transplanted on the recipient site. Indeed, individual hair follicles are transplanted in a FUT hair transplantation operation. The formation of a permanent scar, the need for stitch removal, numbness on the incision site -although temporary- and possible pain after the operation are the disadvantages of the FUT (Follicular Unit Transplantation) method. However, despite all the disadvantages, FUT maintains its significance for a successful hair transplantation operation for those individuals who cannot undergo a FUE hair transplantation operation.

How do FUE and FUT Hair Transplant differ?

The main difference between FUT and FUE hair transplant is the method by which hair follicles are obtained. All the following stages of operation are the same for both of these hair transplant methods and the hair follicles are inserted by the same techniques in both.
